Playland International, in cooperation with the CPSC, announced a voluntary recall of 700 Arch Swing Sets because the metal around the weld at the top of the swing set can fail, posing a fall hazard to the user and/or bystanders.

To date, the company has been notified of one incident in which a child suffered a head injury as the result of being struck by the top bar of the swing.

The recalled swing sets include a 3.5 inch arch swing frame and a 3.5 inch top metal bar. They are available in several colors.

The agency advises consumers to stop using the recalled swing sets immediately to avoid injury and to contact Playland for instructions on how to receive a free repair kit.

Consumer Contact: For additional information, contact Playland International at (800) 356-4727 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s Web site at www.playland-inc.com, or e-mail the firm at swingrecall@playland-inc.com
